In Water Project
Every 15 seconds, a child dies because of a lack of clean drinking water.  That is 10,000 children per day, or 4 million per year.  In most cases, clean water is right beneath their feet, but there is no well, only disease-infested pools of stagnant surface water. Here's what the 8th Grade Membership Class is doing to help:  For two weeks, we will drink no beverages other than water.  We will set aside all the money in which we normally would have spent consuming soda, juice, milk, etc.  We will then turn in the money saved to
World Vision Inc,. to help drill wells in areas where clean water is lacking.

This experience we are participating in is called the H20 Project.  The H20 Project is a nonprofit organization that provides this free program to churches, schools, and civic organizations.  The 8th Grade Membership Class will begin this experience on March 4 and will commence on March 18.  Our goal is to raise $200-$500 total.  $1 will provide water for 1 person for a whole year, so we are hoping to help many people!
Project Update!
The 8th Grade Membership Class is eager to share our results from the H20 Project:
-$510 raised/donated to World Vision Inc. to help drill a well for folks who don't have access to clean drinking water.
-We experienced that sacrifice (giving up other beverages besides water) is a good thing.  We learned that the giving of ourselves is a way we can worship God.
-We learned that we can make a difference.  God can use our lives to help others.
