Holiday Food Baskets 2017

Feeding The Hungry

This year CCPC will again provide a 3-day supply of food for 600+ families. As in years past, volunteers are needed to sort the food and fill the bags. Food and financial donations are also appreciated. This project organized by the CCPC Deacons will provide food “baskets” for both Thanksgiving and Christmas. Each family will receive enough food for approximately 3 days of meals. In total, we will hand out 3600 bags of food. Volunteers fill the bags for distribution and the bags are picked up by local organizations including the Native American Indian Center, Central Community House and the Near East Side Community Center. Referrals can also be taken from church members. Distribution efforts are intense. We organize the food and distribute within two days. Over 150 volunteers help the Deacons provide food baskets to the community.

Daily Scripture

  • Jeremiah 17:7-8
““But blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.””
