Prayer Corner: Feb.14 The Glory of the New Covenant
Is there a veil over your face preventing the Glory of God to shine? What is this ‘Glory’? It is the fullness of God revealed in Christ Jesus and it indwells in every believer. ‘Christ in you the hope of glory.’ (Col. 1:27) Paul wrote: ‘We are not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face to keep the Israelites from gazing (at the glory of God)…But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away...And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.’ (2 Corinth. 3:13-18) Moses' veil was upon his face. Israel's veil was upon their hearts. As we see the Glory of the Lord that is within us through our union with Christ, our outer man will begin to reflect that Glory for all to see. God's Glory is not far off in heaven, but within every believer! Meditate and pray on this amazing, transforming truth and let the Glory of God shine from you!
Almighty God, Your Glory abounds where there is truth, light and love. Thank You for revealing Your Glory in Jesus, and that through faith, Your Glory is in me too. I confess my actions often do not reflect Your Glory. Lord help me renew my mind, break-off bondages of sin, and shed the fleshy desires of this world, so that Your Glory may shine through me and be a light that calls the lost to You. I pray this in Jesus’ powerful Name. Amen.
