Advent Studies available 2017: Two books are recommended this year for our church’s Advent reading. Bible study groups, families, and individuals are encouraged to read one or both of these books to enhance your Advent experience. Books are $10 each, are are available in the CCPC Welcome Center or church office.
2017 faithful "Faithful: Christmas Through the Eyes of Joseph", by Adam Hamilton. This book causes us to think about Joseph, the godly Jewish man whom God chose to be Jesus’s earthly father. Some of the relevant application topics include step-parenting, infidelity, moving, and role-modeling.
This book will give you a fresh view of Christmas in five weeks of Advent study
"Because of Bethlehem: Love is born, Hope is Here", by Max Lucado. The first chapters describe scenarios that demonstrate life in Lucado’s easy manner from which we can glean Christian truths. The second section is a devotional guide for Advent, one for each week and one for Christmas Eve. The weekly studies are great for individual growth or small group use. Spending a little time in this book can assist you in keeping perspective this holiday season. 2017 lucado
