Sunday, September 20 – 8:00am

Thank you for joining us in worship this morning! Here are the congregational lyrics and prayers for our 8:00am All Church Worship service. You can tune into the service at 89.5 FM on your car radio.

Responsive Call to Worship: (Psalm 33)

Leader: Sing joyfully to the LORD, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise him.

People: Praise the LORD with the harp; make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre. Sing to him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy.

Leader: For the word of the LORD is right and true; he is faithful in all he does.

People: The LORD loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of his unfailing love.

Leader: We wait in hope for the LORD; he is our help and our shield.

People: In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name.

All: May your unfailing love be with us, LORD, even as we put our hope in you.

Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty

Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
Early in the morning our song shall rise to Thee;
Holy, holy, holy! merciful and mighty!
God in three Persons, blessed Trinity!

Holy, holy, holy! all the saints adore Thee,
Casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea;
Cherubim and seraphim falling down before Thee,
Who wert, and art, and evermore shall be.

Holy, holy, holy! though the darkness hide Thee,
Though the eye of sinfulness Thy glory may not see,
Only Thou art holy; there is none beside Thee
Perfect in power, in love, and purity.

Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
All Thy works shall praise Thy name, in earth and sky and sea;
Holy, holy, holy! merciful and mighty!
God in three Persons, blessed Trinity!

Unison and Silent Prayers of Confession

Holy God, you see into our hearts. You see the true selves we try to hide from others, the sins we fear would destroy our images, the evils that lurk so deep within us we can scarcely name them, the unholy habits that have been with us so long that they no longer prick our consciences. But you also see in us Jesus Christ, the Holy One who took on our sin and covers us in his righteousness. Forgive us for the sake of Jesus Christ, our Savior.

Response: Lord, I Want to Be a Christian | vs. 3

Lord, I want to be more holy In my heart, in my heart,
Lord, I want to be more holy In my heart.
In my heart, In my heart,
Lord, I want to be more holy In my heart. Amen.

Message: Inside Out. (1 Peter 1:13-21)

Take Time to Be Holy

Take time to be holy,
Speak oft with the Lord;
Abide in Him always,
And feed on His Word.
Make friends of God’s children,
Help those who are weak,
Forgetting in nothing
His blessing to seek.

Take time to be holy,
The world rushes on;
Spend much time in secret,
With Jesus alone.
By looking to Jesus,
Like Him you shall be;
Your friends in your conduct
His likeness shall see.

Take time to be holy,
Let Him be your guide;
And run not before Him,
Whatever betide.
In joy or in sorrow,
Still follow the Lord,
And, looking to Jesus,
Still trust in His Word.

Take time to be holy,
Be calm in your soul,
Each thought and each motive
Beneath His control.
Thus led by His Spirit
To fountains of love,
You soon will be fitted
For service above.

Closing Hymn: All Hail the Power of Jesus' Name

All Hail the power of Jesus’ name!
Let angels prostrate fall;
Bring forth the royal diadem,
And crown Him Lord of all;
Bring forth the royal diadem,
And crown Him Lord of all!

Ye chosen seed of Israel’s race,
Ye ransomed from the fall,
Hail Him who saves you by His grace,
And crown Him Lord of all;
Hail Him who saves you by His grace,
And crown Him Lord of all!

Let every kindred, every tribe,
On this terrestrial ball,
To Him all majesty ascribe,
And crown Him Lord of all;
To Him all majesty ascribe,
And crown Him Lord of all!

O that with yonder sacred throng
We at His feet may fall!
We’ll join the everlasting song,
And crown Him Lord of all;
We’ll join the everlasting song,
And crown Him Lord of all!
