CCPC Stephen Ministers
It is with joyful hearts we announce the next Stephen Ministry Training Class. The first class session will be held Sunday morning, September 16 from 11:00 to 12:00 in the Meeting Center Building. The class meets weekly and goes through the second week of February.
The Stephen Ministry training series is grounded in scripture and provides a structured way of learning how to relate to and offer Christ-like care to a person going through a difficult time in their lives. It may be the loss of a loved one, the stress of illness or hospitalization, job loss, or divorce. It may be another kind of crisis or transition in life. Learn the art of listening and how to use scripture in sharing with those in need of quality Christian care. Discover how to allow God to reach out to others in a wonderful way through you in your daily life of discipleship.
“Let us together, as our Mission Statement says: “Live the power of the gospel to heal the world.”
Class trainers include: Stephen Leaders, Barb Smith, Eric Cordray, Jack Arthurs (representing The Church of the Messiah United Methodist), and David Redding. Also, special guest speakers include Parish Nurse, Amy Taylor, Christian Clinical Counselors, Leslie Marshall and Kevin Heckathorn, a Kobacher House Hospice Chaplain, a Social Worker, and an addiction counselor.
