2018 Christmas Eve Services
All services feature a Service of Lights, when the light from the Advent Wreath's Christ Candle is passed throughout the congregation to the strains of 'O Holy Night'.
There are six services from which to choose:
* Christmas Eve services for 2018 begin at 3:30pm and occur every 90 minutes with the final service concluding at midnight.
3:30pm - Lessons and Carols with the Kis Kids Choirs - Our children's hand-bell and singing choirs (and friends) lead the service with the joy and energy that can only be found in children eager for Christmas to arrive!
5:00pm - A Musical Nativity. Experience the Christmas story through scripture and song! Mary, Joseph, the shepherds and the wise men bring the Nativity to life with costumes and contemporary and gospel music.
6:30pm - Lessons and Carols with Youth Choirs. Worship with our middle and high school students as they share their musical gifts and talents!
8:00 & 9:30 - Lessons and Carols with the Adult Choirs. Come and be inspired as the Chancel Choir and Jubilation Ringers lead the music in our traditional Christmas Eve services.
11:00pm - Candlelight Communion Service. Share the sacrament of communion in this moving service that leads up to the midnight hour of Christmas. Candlelight and acoustic music create a special ambiance as the service builds to the moment when you are the first to be wished—and wish others—"Merry Christmas" on Christmas Day.
- Nursery ministry will be available for the 3:30pm and 5pm services.
Christmas can be painful for some. It may be the first Christmas without a loved family member or it may be a time that has always been difficult. The constant refrain about the happiness of the season and getting together with family and friends reminds many people of what they have lost. Blue Christmas Service is a reflective service supporting you and accepting you where you are, for hope and healing. Everyone is welcome, regardless of their religious background.
